The neighborhood traces it's beginnings to 1902 when Captain Basil John Fisher donated 28 acres of his land holdings for development of a "suburb" of Greensboro. In exchange, the city paid $5 and agreed to build a "driveway" within the donated land. This "driveway" became our signature public streets, Fisher Park Circle, North Park Drive, and South Park Drive. Land lying within that space became a public park, Fisher Park.

A well organized group of residents carefully watch over the neighborhood to preserve the historic homes within Fisher Park. In addition they make an incredible effort to reach out to new homeowners and greet them warmly. A rich history and friendly neighbors make neighborhood a true southern experience.

One outstanding feature that makes Fisher Park exceptional is its historic churches and the many choices of worship available. Most denominations are within walking distance and truly a great example of southern architecture. The First Presbyterian Church located on N. Elm Street is a magnificent example of the historic days that Greensboro offers. Cone Healthcare Mose Cone Hospital is a cornerstone of the Fisher Park community and is conveniently located on N. Elm Street.

Many great restaurants and theatres are located within Downtown Historic Greensboro which is only minutes from Fisher Park.
