Greensboro, NC Real Estate
Greensboro is located in central North Carolina, directly between the beautiful coastline and the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains. With a population of approximately one quarter million people, Greensboro is home to six outstanding universities. Greensboro has an award-winning public school system as well as highly respected private schools, including Greensboro Day School, The Canterbury School and Caldwell Academy.
Greensboro has much to offer families, with gorgeous greenways, a 17-acre arboretum, and walking trails throughout. The Greensboro Children’s Museum and the acclaimed Natural Science Center, which houses a live animal zoological park as well as a planetarium, are perfect for family adventures.
Greensboro is home to the Grasshoppers minor league baseball team, just one part of the revitalized downtown area. The International Civil Rights Museum recently opened on the site of the original Woolworth Four’s 1960 sit-in. The Wyndham Championship PGA Golf Tournament is held every August at Sedgefield Country Club.
The Greensboro Coliseum can accommodate over 23,000 spectators and is the perfect venue for sporting and musical events. The arena hosts the Women’s ACC Basketball Tournament annually and the Men’s ACC Basketball Tournament on a rotating basis. The recently completed Greensboro Aquatic Center will host swimming and diving competitions for local, regional and national events.
The city supports several performance venues including the modernized Carolina Theater, the War Memorial Auditorium and Triad Stage.
